Miami Dolphins star wants to be NFL's best

Reshad Jones of the Miami Dolphins has outlined his goals for next season, with the safety wanting to become among the very best in his position in the NFL.

The 25-year-old has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons of late having skipped an offseason conditioning session due to issues with his current contract, although reversed his initial decision to also be absent from the OTA sessions.

Jones, however, is expected to receive an offer from the Dolphins at some point, with Miami looking weak in his area, despite having spent $200 million on recruitment during the offseason.

He will be in the final year of his rookie deal when the new season begins and is scheduled to make $1.3 million in accordance to NFLPA figures, and would become a free agent if a deal is not agreed.

Although yet to show his commitment to the Dolphins, Jones has spoken to the club's official website detailing his ambitions and highlighting his abilities.

"I can only get better," Jones explained.

"I got the ball rolling in the right direction and I just told myself I want to be recognized as one of the premiere safeties in this league.

"I think last year I went out and showed that to the world and I just want to keep it going."
