Barcelona have drawn up a shortlist of players to replace Thiago Alcantara if he leaves this summer – and it includes Jack Wilshere and Juan Mata.

El Mundo Deportivo claims the Catalan giants are currently in the dark over the future of the Manchester United and Bayern Munich target, but are prepared should the Spanish international midfielder leave for pastures new.

The player’s father, Mazinho, also claims to know ‘nothing’ with regards to the future destination of his son, with David Moyes hoping to secure a first major red Devils additions since taking the helm from Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.

Should the worst happen, in Barcelona’s opinion at least, then the club is ready to move on quickly, with the paper claiming their technical secretary has drawn up a shortlist of targets.

Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere is one of the names in the frame, after the England international impressed against the Blaugrana in the Champions League in 2011.

His progression with the Gunners has been affected by injury, but the 21-year-old remains one of the Premier League’s top talents, and manager Arsene Wenger will be eager not to lose another gem to the Spanish giants following Cesc Fabregas’ return ‘home’ from the Emirates Stadium two years ago.

Chelsea ace Juan Mata is also reportedly on the Barca hit-list, having been linked with a move for the Spanish star back in June.

Mata was in fine form for the Blues last season, impressing at Stamford Bridge under both Roberto Di Matteo and Rafa Benitez.

Jose Mourinho is now at the Chelsea helm, and given his frosty relationship with Barca, it’s unlikely he would want to sell to his old rivals.

Other names on the Barcelona list include Ilkay Gundogan, Christian Erikson, Ander Herrera and Borja Valero.
