EA Sports have confirmed that former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, currently charged with first-degree murders, has been deleted from their popular video games Madden ’14 and NCAA ’14.
The card is unlocked for achieving a certain standard in a training area of the game, though the EA spokesperson insisted that it was unavoidable because of when the game was released.
However, they insisted an update would be released soon that saw Hernandez removed from the game.
It was confirmed that the 23-year-old had already been deleted from Madden ’14, though he is currently without a team after being released by the Patriots.
Hernandez was arrested at the end of last month and charged with the murder of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd.
It was shortly after his arrest that the Patriots made the decision to release him and told fans who had bought his jersey they could exchange them for another member of the team
