Carlos Gomez sealed a 4-3 win for the Milwaukee Brewers over the Cincinnati Reds with a stunning home-run saving catch in the ninth inning on Monday night.

The potential go-ahead homer would have piled the pressure on the Brewers final at-bat in the bottom of the ninth, but Gomez's catch clinched the crucial third out.

That sealed the 4-3 win, as the Reds wouldn't be able to bat again.

"When you save the game like that or when you hit a walk-off home run, it's amazing," Gomez told ESPN. "I never hit one, but I steal home run to win the game.

"It's something special, like you can't wait to get home and see it over and over."

The Brewers centre-fielder leapt up above the home-run boundary to snare Joey Votto's hit - a home run would have put the Reds ahead in the final inning.
