Liverpool defender target Aly Cissokho has opened the door to a move to Merseyside.

The one-cap French international has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in the past, with the Sunday People reporting at the weekend that Brendan Rodgers was ready to make a £4million move for the player.

Cissokho has revealed that a bid is yet to be lodged by the Reds, but admits that were one to be made, he would not be able to turn down the chance to join such a ‘legendary club’ from Valencia.

"I will not believe that I am going anywhere until I am in Liverpool and having a medical,” said the 25-year-old left back, according to Sky Sports.

"Liverpool is such a great club, so to be linked with them is fantastic. But there is nothing concrete from anyone at the moment.

"If there is an opportunity to join such a club, I will take it. Valencia are a great club, in a great city, but Liverpool are a legendary club."

Liverpool have already strengthened their defence this summer, with Kolo Toure moving to Anfield on a free transfer. Tiago Ilori is another player to have been linked with the Reds, whilst Toby Alderweild is another reported target.

Unlike the aforementioned players, Cissokho is an out-an-out full-back who does not have the ability to play at centre back, and his arrival would pose questions about the future of Jose Enrique.
