Manchester City are reported to have agreed a deal to sign Portuguese defender Pepe from Real Madrid.

The 30-year-old was forced out of the Madrid side last season by teenager Raphael Varane, and may now secure a transfer to the Etihad Stadium.

Gareth Bale has dropped one of the clearest hints that he intends to stay with Tottenham beyond the transfer deadline, after the Welsh winger launched the club's new kit.

Bale modelled the new strip at a special event on Tuesday, and spoke about his ambitions for the 2013-14 season.

Former Manchester United striker Andrew Cole has urged Wilfried Zaha to take his chance at Old Trafford.

Zaha arrives at the club having initially been signed by Sir Alex Ferguson, and Cole believes the young winger will benefit from beginning on a clean slate with David Moyes, just like the rest of the squad.

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic says he was very impressed by his first meeting with new Blues manager Jose Mourinho.

Ivanovic, however, realises the importance of meeting the raised expectations following the re-appointment of the former Chelsea boss.

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has picked his goal in the north London derby against Tottenham as his favourite memory of last season.

The Spain international scored the fourth of five goals as the Gunners trounced Spurs at the Emirates Stadium.

The first Clasico of the new season will take place at the Camp Nou in October.

Barcelona host Real Madrid on the weekend of the 26th and 27th, with the reverse La Liga fixture scheduled for March.
