Real Madrid are ready to outbid Arsenal for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and will come in with a £40million offer.

According to the Daily Star, Arsene Wenger could be about to enter a bidding war for the Uruguay international as the Santiago Bernabeu club firm up their interest.

Arsenal reportedly made a £30million bid for the striker earlier this week, though it was immediately rejected by Anfield officials, as Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is determined to hang on to him.

Suarez recently said he was flattered by interest in him from the Gunners and a report in The Times yesterday claimed he had instructed his agent to explore them as an option further.

However, Wenger’s hopes of landing Liverpool’s top goalscorer from last season will have been hit after the reported involvement of Real Madrid.

This latest report claims Suarez is a big fan of los Blancos and would be open to a La Liga switch if the option came up.

Moving to Arsenal is unlikely to please Liverpool fans, as Suarez’s previous stated motivation for a transfer was his treatment by the British press.
