Olympic star Victoria Pendleton is set to get back on the bike for the PruProtect Chance to Ride fundraiser this September - and she wants members of the public to join her.

Pendleton, along with former-England cricket captain Michael Vaughan, will join a group of sports stars, commentators and celebrities on one of the stages in Manchester's National Cycling Centre.

The double Olympic gold medallist trained at the state-of-the-art facility throughout her career, and admits she's looking forward to the venue. Pendleton will also ride in a road cycling stage that includes a time trial challenge for competitive cyclists.

"After months of competing against each other during Strictly Come Dancing last year, it will be great to support Michael on his bike ride and help raise funds for charity," said Pendleton.

"I was in Rio for the Laureus Awards earlier this year and it's great to be able to support organisations that help children through sport.

"The velodrome in Manchester holds fond memories for me and it will be great to meet some of the fundraisers taking part in the ride."

The charity ride is looking for 50 fundraisers for each of the four stages. Travelling from Headingley, Leeds, on September 6 the Chance to Ride peloton will track the England-Australia NatWest One Day International series down to London, ending on September 17.

A heady combination of cycling and cricket will be enjoyed across each of the four stages over the two weeks - and it's open to all ages and abilities.

So, visit if you're interested in joining Pendleton and Vaughan on the ride - whether it's for the full 12-days or just one of the individual stages.
