Kobe Bryant 'not wasting his time' over Dwight Howard

Kobe Bryant admits he has not been losing any sleep over Dwight Howard's decision to reject the offer from the LA Lakers and agree a controversial move to the Houston Rockets.

Howard is reported to have accepted a contract with the Rockets that will see him make more money after tax than he would have done with the Lakers, and has incensed players past and present.

The 27-year-old's free agent switch to Texas has attracted extreme criticism, with the likes of Lakers legends Shaquille O'Neal and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar publicly slamming the big man for rebuffing LA.

Howard and Bryant hardly saw eye to eye last season as the Lakers suffered a disastrous 2012-13 and, although the former leaves with the best wishes of the latter, there appears to still be some tension between the pair.

"Once a guys decides to go someplace else, I'm going to waste my time trying to figure out why that happened?" Bryant said speaking to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

"I'm happy for him. It's important for free agents to make decisions that they feel is best for them."

Bryant unfollowed Howard on Twitter in the aftermath of his departure from Los Angeles, but has defended his decision to do so, claiming he does not follow opponents.
