Manchester City have decided to make a sensational move for Paris Saint-Germain superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic, though they will have to fight off Real Madrid if they want to sign him.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Etihad Stadium officials are desperate to land a big-name forward this summer and will turn to Zlatan Ibrahimovic after missing out of their prime target.

Napoli striker Edinson Cavani was who Manchester City wanted to lead the line next season, but it looks as though they have been beaten by PSG to his signing.

New manager Manuel Pellegrini needs more bodies in the attacking department as Manchester City have sold both Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli this year, without signing a replacement.

The report claims Ibrahimovic’s agent, Mino Raiola, has been in talks with Real Madrid earlier this week about following former PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti to the Spanish capital.

However, it also claims that talks are scheduled with Manchester City in the coming days and that previous manager Roberto Mancini was keen on signing the Sweden international last season.
