Manchester United star’s hilarious step-over fail

GMS realise it’s the first game of pre-season for Manchester United, but rustiness is still no excuse for what Danny Welbeck has done in Bangkok – easy with the jokes now.

David Moyes was taking his first ever game in charge of the Old Trafford club, so it was a chance for some players to make a good first impression.

It’s fair to say that Welbeck’s could have gone better, as he pulled out a hilarious fail when trying to show off with a little bit of skill.

Singha All Stars XI were the opponents and the England international showed a good burst of pace to outstrip a defender a few minutes before half time.

He retrieved the ball down the near the corner flag and turned to face his opponent, before pulling off one of the worst step-overs you are ever likely to see.

Instead of bamboozling the defender, he just back-heeled the ball pathetically out for a goal-kick.

Welbeck saw the funny side of it, which was lucky because the crowd were in full voice with their jeers.

It didn’t get much better for Manchester United, as they were defeated 1-0 by the All Stars.
