Julio Cesar's agent has confirmed that the Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper is closing in on a move to Napoli. Arsenal and Villarreal have also been linked with the 33-year-old but it appears Napoli are set to win the race for his signature.

Maicon is on the verge of returning to Serie 'A' with Roma, according to reports. The Manchester City right-back arrived in the Italian capital on Monday morning before heading to the club for a medical ahead of signing a two-year deal.

Former-Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke would love to see Tottenham star Gareth Bale join the Premier League champions this summer. David Moyes insists he will target the best players as he looks to improve the squad, and Yorke would love to see his old team sign Bale after missing out on Thiago Alcantara.

Clint Dempsey is likely to remain at White Hart Lane despite reports linking him with West Brom. The Tottenham forward is believed to be a target for Baggies boss Steve Clarke, but Dempsey's agent claims Spurs are keen to keep the USA international at the club.

Thiago Silva is determined to stay at Paris St Germain next season amid interest from Barcelona, according to the player's agent. The Brazil international only moved to the French capital last summer, but last week admitted it would be a "dream" to move to the Nou Camp one day.

Chelsea forward Lucas Piazon says he is helping new signing Wallace settle into the Blues' squad. The 19-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge this summer from Fluminense, and the Brazilian contingent - including Piazon, Ramires and David Luiz - have helped the teenager to acclimatise in west London.
