Carly Rae Jepsen throws shocking first pitch

Carly Rae Jepsen may be adept at writing a sensationally catchy pop ditty but, unfortunately for the Canadian songstress, she does not appear to possess any sporting ability.

The 27-year-old, who had a monster global hit last year with Call Me Maybe, was afforded the honour of throwing the first pitch at the home of the Tampa Bay Rays but fluffed her lines in quite breathtaking fashion.

Tasked with with the apparently simple proposition of pitching the ball in from the mound, Jepsen inexplicably throws the ball straight into the turf hardly two yards in front of her.

Not only did her daisy-cutter fail to reach its intended recipient, but Jepsen also managed to crash it into the camera of a watching photographer, who clearly thought he was out of danger that close to the pitcher.

Having played her part in the Call Me Maybe parody craze of of 2012, Jepsen now appears set to go viral again after her embarrassing fail with baseball in hand.
