Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has confirmed he is in talks to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid.

The Argentinian is a long-term for Arsenal.

Chelsea have reportedly had a £10 million bid plus either Juan Mata or David Luiz for Wayne Rooney turned down.

According to reports the Blues could come back in with a second offer later this week.

Manchester City are close to taking their summer spending to £90 million as deals for Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetic and Sevilla's Alvaro Negredo draw near.

The Manchester Evening News say City are poised to complete deals worth around £24 million for each player to add to summer arrivals Fernandinho and Jesus Navas.

David de Gea says he would welcome Cesc Fabregas at Manchester United should the Barcelona midfielder make the move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils reportedly had a €30 million offer for the former Arsenal man turned down this week.

Tottenham are still locked in talks with Aston Villa over the transfer of Christian Benteke, according to

Villa are believed to be holding out for £25 million for the Belgian striker, while Spurs want to pay around £5 million less.

And finally Lionel Messi says he is looking forward to playing alongside Neymar, and believes the pair can form a successful partnership.
