Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reiterated his desire to hang on to want-away striker Luis Suarez this summer.
The Uruguayan has made it very clear that he intends to leave Anfield, following a turbulent time with Liverpool since his arrival from Ajax in 2011.
A series of incidents have clouded Suarez's time in England, when on many occasions, his football has been some of the best we have ever seen in the Premier League.
And it is his footballing ability that many clubs are keen on securing, with Premier League rivals Arsenal leading the race to sign the striker, despite having a £30m offer already rejected this summer.
Carlo Ancelotti is also keen on the striker, with the Real Madrid boss ready to pounce if Gonzalo Higuain is sold this summer.
But Liverpool manager Rodgers has made it very clear that Suarez will be at the club next season, despite the on-going transfer speculation.
Speaking to reporters, he said: "He is a wonderful player and he is still very much a Liverpool player. No matter who the player is, nobody is bigger than Liverpool Football Club. Luis is a very important member of this squad an I am looking forward to working with him again this season."
And Rodgers also confirmed that the club did reject an offer for Suarez, but it was way below their own valuation of the player.
"There has been lots of speculation about Luis moving to another club, but as I said, he is very much a Liverpool player. We had an offer that was nowhere near what we value him at. Of course he wants to work and play at the top level."
"But unless something drastic happens, he will be staying here. He has got three years left on his contract."
