Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale is keen on a move to Manchester United this summer after they made a £60million bid for him.

According to the Daily Star, Bale has told friends he fancies swapping White Hart Lane for Old Trafford this summer, despite Spurs’ determination not to sell him.

Bale was one of the star players in the Premier League last season and Manchester United have long been credited with an interest in him, though they were not the only ones.

Real Madrid were reportedly favourites to land the Wales international, though it was suggested they would have to wait one more season for any deal to happen.

However, the report claims Manchester United’s willingness to pay £60million for the 24-year-old has piqued his interest in them.

It claims that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is unwilling to sell a top star to a rival Premier League club after the criticism he received from fans following the transfer of Dimitar Berbatov.

Bale would have to agitate for a move to get his wish of playing in the Champions League with the Premier League champions.

The report also claims that Spurs will offer Bale a new contract that would double his money to £150,000-a-week, as they try to convince him to stay for another year.
