Galatasaray will renew their efforts to sign Chelsea target Bruma, the Turkish club's president Unal Aysal has confirmed.

The Portuguese winger - dubbed the new Cristiano Ronaldo - has been the subject of intense transfer speculation for much of the summer, after a series of eye-catching performances at the U20 World Cup.

"We are interested in Bruma," confirmed Aysal. "However, there haven't been any developments recently. This transfer could take some time."

Initially tied to Sporting Lisbon, Bruma is now a free agent, at least according to his lawyer Bebiano Gomes, who told TVI in a recent interview that any club interested in signing the player can approach his representatives directly.

"Now Bruma heads totally out of Sporting," said Gomes. "If the case goes through the courts, no problem."

Jose Mourinho has been credited with an interest in bringing Bruma to Stamford Bridge, and the youngster's agent Catio Balde confirmed that there was an offer from Chelsea on the table earlier this summer.

"I was in charge or presenting offers to Sporting," Balde recently told Antena 1. "There are offers from foreign clubs, from Chelsea and from Galatasaray, worth €8m, that could reach €12m.

"From this moment on, considering that he is a highly coveted player, it is possible that more offers will arrive, because I know that several clubs were waiting for the best moment to make a move."

A Premier League switch is still a possibility, but Chelsea will have to fight Galatasaray directly for Bruma's signature, with a probable transfer tug-of-war set to ensue for one of Portugal's brightest young exports.

"Right now, Bruma's mind is not on Sporting," Balde added. "It is not a pleasant situation for a young man to be in when there is a tug-of-war.

"But I think the coming days there will be news. We are all committed to trying to resolve the situation so everybody is happy."
