The agent of Southampton midfielder Gaston Ramirez has admitted that a summer move to Inter Milan could be on the cards.
The Uruguayan international impressed last season, in what was his first in English football.
He made the move to the south coast in 2012, signing in a £12m deal from Serie A outfit Bologna. And he impressed under Mauricio Pochettino scoring five goals in 26 league appearances.
And this form has attracted the attention of a host of clubs, with Italian giants Inter Milan leading the race to sign the playmaker.
And Ramirez's agent has revealed that the move could happen, but would not be able to prise the midfielder away from Southampton on the cheap.
Speaking to Illsussidiario.net, agent Pablo Betancourt said: "I have not personally had any contact with Inter, but there could well have been discussions between the clubs.
"Should it be possible? I'm convinced that everything can be done if there is the money to do it."
But Betancourt conceded that no move will happen if Milan don't have the funds to complete an immediate transfer.
He also revealed that Inter wanted to sign his client before he completed his move to Southampton in 2012.
"For Ramirez the English side made a big sacrifice, so if Inter like him they will have to pay a big sum.
"Italy is in Ramirez's heart, but I don't like talking about things that aren't concrete.
"Should there be an offer, then we will evaluate. Inter looked for the player before he signed for Southampton, but the affair failed," he added.
