With a number of regular first-team players missing for the early stages of Manchester United's pre-season tour, new manager David Moyes has given many young players the chance to prove themselves amongst the best, including new signing Wilfried Zaha.
Despite a 1-0 defeat in Moyes' first game in charge of the Premier League champions, there were many reasons to be optimistic as the former Crystal Palace winger came off the bench to display why his new club offered £15 million for his signature back in January.
Another top performer in Thailand for Moyes' men was 18-year-old Adnan Januzaj. The youngster was given a place in the starting XI, and didn't fail to produce in front of a packed stadium in Bangkok.
Moyes was keen to praise the Belgian after the match, as he was quoted by the BBC saying: "It is always good when you give a young player a chance and he shows up. He did that tonight. The more he plays like that the more opportunities he is likely to get."
When the Manchester United manager was also asked about Zaha, he went on to add: "Wilfried did well, he gave us something different. We have brought him here to give him a chance. It is the first time I have worked with him and had a chance to see him up close.
"He will certainly be part of the squad and we will see where we can fit him in as often as we can."
Another player, who has come through the ranks of the Academy at Manchester United, caught the eyes of spectators during United's match against the A-League All Stars in Sydney.
20-year-old Jesse Lingard from Warrington scored twice and put in a fantastic performance as United cruised to a 5-1 victory. When interviewed by MUTV after the game, Lingard spoke of how he was learning whilst training with the first-team.
"You want to be with them regularly," he said. "You want to get used to how they train and how they prepare for games. The lads have been great, the banter's flying about and they've welcomed the young lads into the squad very well."
