As time goes by, age begins to affect the majority of footballers, whether that be through injuries taking their toll, a reduction in pace or simply that other, younger players are taking their positions.
However, there remains several individuals whose talents do not seem to have diminished with age, and, if anything, seem to grow into their roles of elder statesmen of their respective teams who lead their peers to even greater heights, due to their expansive wealth of experience.
