As the new season draws ever closer, Europe's top clubs will be battling it out in the prestigious UEFA Champions League.
This list is comprised of the top five teams to watch out for, therefore not teams that are always close to winning (e.g. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United etc). Some of these teams are not tipped to win it, just to surprise people like Malaga did last year.
5) Shaktar Donetsk
Despite selling some of their best players, including Fernandinho, replacements such as Wellington Nem may succeed and the rest of the squad could pull together and cause an upset.
4) Borussia Dortmund
Dortmund came so close last year and this year they could go one better. The same manager, the same squad apart from Mario Gotze leaving, Dortmund may still win the European crown.
Ajax have very good management staff with Frank de Boer as manager and Dennis Bergkamp as his number two. The squad is very young but still has a lot of European experience and last year they beat Manchester City in the group stage.
Although Napoli have sold their star striker Edison Cavani, Rafa Benitez has pulled off some impressive signings in the transfer window with Pepe Reina, Raul Albiol, Jose Callejon, Dries Mertens joined and Gonzalo Higuain on his way too. With Rafa at the helm and a strong squad, Napoli could exceed many expectations.
1) Paris St Germain
PSG may have a tougher domestic season with Monaco buying some top players; in Europe they could have an extremely successful season. With Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front, goals will flow through the team. Defensively more questions will be asked but with Thiago Silva, one of the best centre-backs in the world, PSG could go very far.
