Manchester United have not made an offer for Marouane Fellaini, nor has there been a renewed approach for Leighton Baines, Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed.

The Premier League champions have been linked with a bid for Fellaini in their pursuit of midfield reinforcements, while they failed in an attempt to sign Baines earlier in the transfer window.

Fellaini and Baines were two of David Moyes' finest acquisitions during his time at Goodison Park, but Martinez says the new Manchester United manager has made no recent move to bring either to Old Trafford.

When asked at a press conference on Thursday if there had been any interest in Fellaini or Baines, Martinez responded: "Not at all."

Manchester United are reported to have identified Fellaini as a potential recruit in their quest to land a midfielder of some repute following the retirement of club legend Paul Scholes at the end of last season.

Moyes will, however, have only one week to decide if he plans to formalise his interest in Fellaini, with the 25-year-old's release clause set to expire in the coming days.

Everton can be forced into the sale of Fellaini if an interested club are willing to activate his £22 million release clause, but this contractual stipulation will reportedly end on July 31.
