Manchester United star Nani has warned his fellow teammates that they must 'prove themselves' to new manager David Moyes.

Nani believes everyone will be starting with a clean slate following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Portuguese star was ruled out of Manchester United's tour of Sunday due to a nasal problem, so is yet to play under Moyes.

However the winger - who was linked with a move away from Old Trafford earlier this summer - did make his comeback in United XI's 2-0 win over Crewe Alexandra on Monday.

Nani - who grabbed an impressive brace - told Sky Sports News after the win: "Of course it's a bit different when Sir Alex leaves the club, so you can feel the change because you know how important he was for this club.

"The team is the same and we hope the manager comes with ideas to help us to win again.

"Of course, everyone has to prove himself because it is a different manager with different ideas.

"But he knows the players because he has played against them, he has seen the TV and has seen them all these years in the Premier League.

"I think, after a couple of weeks, a couple of months, with the players, he will understand every personality."

His Manchester United teammates have just landed back in England following a mixed bag of results in Asia and Australia.

Nani is likely to feature in Manchester United's next pre-season fixture against Swedish side AIK Fotboll on August 6.
