Pep Guardiola is not exactly short of world-class midfielders at Bayern Munich, but 17-year-old Pierre Hojbjerg could soon be challenging them all for a first-team place.
The 17-year-old Denmark U19 international made his senior Bayern Munich debut last season, and has continued to enhance his growing reputation this summer, scoring a sublime 30-yard free-kick for the B team against Nürnberg II on Tuesday evening.
Hojbjerg's second-half strike was the only goal of the match - and, indeed, it was good enough to settle any game.
The youngster confidently stepped up before dispatching a perfect free-kick past the helpless opposition goalkeeper with power, pace and accuracy.
No doubt Guardiola, a keen admirer of youth talent, will have been impressed with the stylish strike - and there's every chance we may see more of the Copenhagen-born midfielder over the course of the 2013/14 Bundesliga campaign.
Hojbjerg, who has scored three goals in six matches for Denmark U19s, joined Bayern Munich last year after leaving Danish outfit Brondby.
