The National Hockey League Player’s Association and Allstate Insurance Company of Canada will welcome the 42 selected bantam-aged players to the third annual Mentorship Camp in August.
The annually held Allstate All-Canadian camp hosted in Toronto is set to open its doors to the lucky lot to sharpen their skills with the top NHL players.
With the intensive five-day exhibition beginning 6th August, the youngsters will have the chance to be taught by 21-year veteran Gary Roberts and coach Dave Lewis.
NHL current players Spezza Giroux, Martin Biron, Logan Couture, Michael Del Zotto, Matt Read, Brayden Schenn and Jeff Skinner will be given exclusive lessons about the importance of fitness, nutrition and mental conditioning.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to sharing my personal experiences and knowledge of training and nutrition with these young players to help show how these things can help them achieve success.
“Our on and off-ice training programmes have been developed with a philosophy combing proper training, nutrition and recovery strategies that will elevate these players.
“I believe learning these important skills now will provide these young players with numerous benefits throughout their careers.”
The Association sends out a network of scouts across the country to nominate some of the top bantam-aged players in Canada.
Those selected players are then invited to apply for one of 42 sports at the Camp, six goalkeepers, 12 defensemen and 24 forwards.
To be eligible for the camp, players must be 14 year-old and must be a resident of Canada.
