Tottenham and Chelsea have been put on red alert after Brazilian star Willian issued a 'come-and-get-me' plea to Premier League clubs.

Willian was heavily linked with a move to England last summer with Tottenham having a bid of £11.8m rejected.

Chelsea also had a huge offer of £27m turned down but the Stamford Bridge outfit refused to go any higher.

Willian eventually signed for Anzhi Makhachkala in January as the Russian club were the only team to match Shakthar Donetsk's £30m evaluation.

However, after just one season in the Russian Premier League the 24-year-old has declared his desire to leave, with the Premier League being his dream destination.

"I tried to leave Shakhtar for over a year, but couldn’t do it," Willian told ESPN. "I had offers from big English clubs and from other places, but Shakhtar never accepted them.

"I wanted very badly to go to England, but I have no regrets and couldn’t wait any longer to leave Shakhtar. They use to tell me one thing and then act otherwise.

"Anzhi were the only ones who agreed to play for my release clause. I have enormous affection and respect for this club, but everybody knows that my dreams and desires haven’t changed.

"I have the goal of playing for a big club and being in the spotlight to rejoin the Brazil national team but for now I’m an Anzhi player, and I intend to keep playing here with a calm mind."

Spurs could make a move for the player if there transfer budget is bolstered by the sale of Gareth Bale.

The club are believed to have conceded defeat in their bid to keep the Welshman and have sanctioned a record-breaking move to Madrid.

It is not known whether Chelsea have retained their interest in the Brazilian forward with new manager Jose Mourinho bringing in Andre Schurrle from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
