Tottenham have been constantly nagged by Real Madrid regarding the purchase of Gareth Bale in recent weeks.
Although Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo seems the way to compete with Neymar and Lionel Messi, how are Spurs going to cope without their star player?
The latest offer seems to be a mind-blowing £86m, which Spurs are considering.
Spurs could actually benefit from this sale. Although they would not want to be losing Bale, a potential sale involving Luka Modric could actually improve the current team. They would be losing a lot on shirt sales and other global merchandising and marketing, but will gain funds to better their team to qualify for the Champions League.
Other than Modric, they have already announced the signing of Roberto Soldado and could even sign Luis Suarez with the money gained from Bale’s purchase. This would be a masterstroke for Spurs. This would not only make Spurs twice as strong but would also rub salt into their rivals with Arsenal constantly linked with Suarez.
They would still have another £30m at least to invest on defensive cover and a winger.
Quite likely they could invest in Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona. They could even go on to sign Portuguese left-back, Fabio Coentrao.
A Bale purchase could pull in a Spurs star squad which could involve: Lloris, Walker, Caulker, Vertonghen, Coentrao, Dembele, Dempsey, Modric, Sanchez, Suarez and Soldado.
That team can not only qualify for the Champions League but could also compete with Bale’s Madrid.
Make the sale, Daniel Levy. Spurs deserve better than Bale.
