Ilkay Gundogan played a starring role for Borussia Dortmund last weekend to provide Manchester United fans with a glimpse of what that can expect were he to secure a transfer to Old Trafford.

The BVB midfielder scored a wonderful solo strike in his side's convincing 4-2 victory over Bayern Munich in the German SuperCup, and it is little surprise Gundogan is attracting admiring glances from the Premier League.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has identified the acquisition of midfield reinforcements a summer priority, and is reportedly prepared to launch a £20 million bid for Gundogan should his pursuit of Cesc Fabregas prove fruitless.

The Premier League champions are keen to recruit a successor to Paul Scholes, and Gundogan's weekend goal was taken with the aplomb of the former England international during his Old Trafford pomp.

Gundogan's goal, however, was not the only beauty scored in the past seven days, with Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho himself finding the net in glorious fashion during a recent Reds friendly.

While the goals of Gundogan and Coutinho displayed wonderful poise and precise execution, both were outdone in the spectacular stakes by Daniel McBreen and Daniel Luduena.

McBreen of Shanghai East Asia looped in a quite breathtaking volley this week, while Pachuca star Luduena crashed home a halfway hammer-bang of David Beckham proportions.
