Cristiano Ronaldo is the man, says Ancelotti

Carlo Ancelotti was unreserved in his appraisal of Cristiano Ronaldo, after the striker grabbed two goals against Chelsea in Miami.

Madrid stormed to their sixth win in a row during their pre-season campaign, defeating former boss Jose Mourinho's Chelsea side 3-1.

After the game, Ancelotti, who had every right to be happy with his side's performance, commented on who he thought was the man of the match.

"Ronaldo is the man for Real Madrid. He is very important to us. I think that if Ronaldo performs, the coach's job is easier," said Ancelotti.

"He scores lots of goals, is very important and I am happy to be coaching him. He is professional, focused and very motivated."

Ronaldo scored a trademark free-kick to put Los Blancos ahead after Ramires had instantly levelled Marcelo's opener.

The 28-year-old went on to head home after a late run into the box, subsequently securing Madrid's victory.

Due to the result, the Spanish giants lifted the International Champions Cup, a tournament that took place in the U.S but Ancelotti has insisted they will not get carried away to their winning start.

"We have to be calm because all preseason matches are important and we have to play well because there are a lot of fans following us.

"The atmosphere was fantastic today," Ancelotti concluded.
