Jay Spearing has agreed a four-year deal to join Championship club Bolton from Liverpool according to Sky Sports.
The Liverpool midfielder had spent last season on loan at Bolton, with his displays impressing manager Dougie Freedman with the club coming back and securing a permanent deal for the 24-year-old.
Spearing was Bolton's player of the year last season, and is poised to sign a 4-year deal after agreeing terms.
Spearing held talks and underwent a medical at Bolton on Thursday, after they agreed an undisclosed fee with Liverpool for the midfielder, rumoured to be in the region of £1.4m.
Liverpool were poised to sell Spearing earlier this Summer with Blackburn chasing his signature, but the proposed move to Ewood Park collapsed with the player questioning the merits of such a move.
Spearing has featured for Liverpool in pre-season, with his latest appearance coming on Wednesday in the club's friendly in Norway, where they recorded a 4-1 win over Valerenga, with new signings Aspas and Alberto on the score sheet
Spearing came through the ranks at Liverpool, but has been allowed to leave by Red's boss Brendan Rodgers after finding himself well down the pecking order at Anfield ands surplus to requirements for the club.
Bolton boss Dougie Freedman had made Spearing one of his top targets of the summer and the midfielder could go straight into the squad for this weekend's clash with Reading.
Spearing had 37 appearances for Bolton last season in the Championship, scoring two goals during the league campaign.
