Liverpool are ready to make a move for Granada left-back Guilherme Siqueira, according to Sky Sports.

Siqueira, who joined the La Liga outfit from Udinese in 2011, has a dual Italian citizenship so would have no problems gaining a work permit to play in England.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has made strengthening the left-back position a priority as he goes in search of cover for Jose Enrique.

The 27-year-old impressed at his club last season and now Rodgers has decided to target the star, instead of pursuing Benfica's Lorenzo Melgarejo and Valencia's Aly Cissokho, who had previously been linked to Anfield.

With Stuart Downing heading to West Ham and Luis Suarez's future still uncertain, the Liverpool boss will be desperate to add to his squad before the start of the Premier League campaign.

The Reds face Stoke City at Anfield this Saturday lunch time and will be hoping to get off to a bright start as they go in search of Champions League qulaification.
