Tour of Asia

Football News

With the new signings added to the squad, the club headed out to Bangkok for the first stage of the Asian tour.

The first game was against the Singha All Stars, a team who had beaten Manchester United the previous week. It was a fairly boring affair which saw only one goal by way of a Lukaku penalty.

The second game proved much more exciting, the Malaysian XI’s defending was atrocious but it gave the team an opportunity to work on the attacking movement in a match instead of the training pitch and the team did not disappoint.

The match finished 4-1 with goals coming from Moses, Lukaku, De Bruyne and Traore. De Bruyne sadly got injured after scoring a superb volley which ended the tour for the young Belgian but the game highlighted one of Chelsea’s young stars waiting in the wings, Bertrand Traore.

The right sided winger appears a real workhorse and scored a nifty little flicked goal in the box as well as setting up one for Moses.

Game three saw the club head to Jakarta to play the Indonesian XI, the oppositions defending was again dreadful but the game proved entertaining nonetheless.

The game finished 8-1 with goals coming from Hazard, Ba, Terry, Traore and both Lukaku and Ramires bagged a brace each. It was a ruthless performance from Chelsea and the perfect way to end a very successful tour.
