Everton have rejected a £28 million bid from Manchester United for duo Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines, according to Sky Sports.

United boss David Moyes previously managed the pair at Goodison Park and is now desperate to bring them to Old Trafford.

Moyes has yet to make a major signing at the Red Devils since taking charge on July 1, but has suffered a setback in his chase to sign the Belgian and England internationals.

Baines and Fellaini, who have been heavily linked to United all summer, both featured in Everton's 2-2 draw with Norwich City on Saturday.

And, now the Merseyside club will be hoping to keep hold of their star pair before the transfer window shuts on September 2.

However, United continue to try and add to their squad after failing in bids for Cesc Fabregas this summer.

The Old Trafford outfit could yet up their bid for the Everton pair in the near future.
