Arsenal are waiting to discover the full extent of the injury suffered by Alex Oxlade Chamberlain at the weekend. The 20-year-old winger left the Emirates Stadium on crutches after a nasty collision with Aston Villa's Antonio Luna and reports claim he faces a long spell on the sidelines.

Chelsea have sent another young player on loan to the Dutch league this season after teenage Croatian striker Stipe Perica joined NAC Breda. The 18-year-old forward was signed earlier this month, and becomes the fifth Chelsea youngster to move to the Eredivisie this summer.

Manuel Pellegrini is eager for Gareth Barry to stay but will leave the decision over his future up to the player. The England international was been strongly linked with a move to Everton, and has just one year left on his Manchester City contract.

Michu has hailed Robin Van Persie as the best striker in the world after watching the Dutchman score two goals against his side. Manchester United beat Michu's Swans 4-1 at the Liberty Stadium, and the Spaniard admitted he was in awe of Van Persie's finishing ability.

Xavi Hernandez is pleased with Barcelona's strong start to the season following their 7-0 victory over Levante. The Barca vice-captain celebrated 15 years in the first-team on Sunday as two goals from Leo Messi helped the defending champions get off to the perfect start.
