Ricky Walden won his third title carrying ranking points, as he defeated Marco Fu 4-3 to win the Bluebell Wood Open at the Doncaster Dome.
The man from Chester had led 3-1 but was pegged back to a deciding frame by a stubborn Fu, before making a tremendous clearance of 65 to win the third European tour event of the season.
Victory lifts him one place to number seven in the world rankings, after he also beat David Gilbert, Mark Allen and Shaun Murphy on finals day.
Fu himself saw off Steve Davis, Mark Williams and Ding Junhui en-route to the final, while Stephen Maguire and Jimmy Robertson were the other two players defeated at the quarter-final stage.
Anthony Hamilton and Tom Ford fell at the first hurdle on finals day as they lost to Ding and Murphy respectively, while Ronnie O’Sullivan’s conqueror Peter Lines was beaten by Maguire.
Pankaj Advani, Vinnie Calabrese and Rod Lawler had also made it to Saturday, but were quickly swept aside by Williams, Robertson and Allen.
