NAC Breda set to sign Chelsea striker on loan

Chelsea summer signing Stipe Perica is set to complete a season-long loan move to Dutch outfit NAC Breda, reports Sky Sports.

The 18-year-old striker only signed for the Blues on August 1, but is set to leave west London almost as quickly as he arrived, after the opportunity arose to continue his development with regular first-team football in the Eredivisie.

Jose Mourinho has high hopes for the Croatia U20 international, but with no guarantee of action in Chelsea's senior squad, the Portuguese coach thought it better for Perica to take in a spell away from Stamford Bridge.

The former NK Zadar star has been tipped for a bright future in the game, but like a number of the club's promising young players, has been sent out on loan abroad rather than being limited to reserve and youth team action in England.

NAC technical director Jeffrey van As confirmed that a deal for Perica is close, with only final formalities to be agreed with Chelsea.

"It's well known we don't have any money to spend," he told Voetbal International. "But the guy is a big talent and besides that very young.

"We can get him on loan from Chelsea for free, so we haven't hesitated for a single moment."
