FIFA 14 reaches next level with EA Sports Ignite

FIFA 14 is widely expected to be one of the greatest football games of all-time.

And, after the Electronic Arts press conference at Gamescom in Cologne, there is little to suggest that this isn't the case.

But, looking into the not too distant future, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions might be outdated sooner rather than later.

That's because EA gave fans a sneak peak of the game on both the PS4 and Xbox One using real in-game footage from the two next gen consoles.

The results are nothing short of spectacular, with the Ignite engine making gameplay look unbelievably realistic, and the facial features on the players sharper than ever.

Built on true player motion and human intelligence, the game will offer incredible camera angles, pre-game rituals and the stadiums coming to life with a completely authentic atmosphere.

An 'in-game director' also has over 100 different camera angles covered to create replays and follow players, just like you're watching it on TV.

As David Rutter, the game's executive producer, concluded - things just got real.

Watch the incredible trailer at the top of this video, and let us know what you think about FIFA 14 on the next generation consoles...
