Fireman’s helmet celebration gets strikers booked

Unusual goal celebrations are always something to rejoice and GMS believe the joy of scoring should always be marked with some kind of choreographed acrobatics/dance/mime.

We are also big fans of using props in goal celebrations and have no idea why the dusty old fun sponges at FIFA insist on punishing a bit of a laugh.

Lanus hosted Estudiantes in the Argentine Primera Division on Tuesday evening and they recovered well from an early setback to equalise after ten minutes.

Lautaro Acosta was the man with the horrendously bad goal before running off to the sidelines with his striker partner Santiago Silva and picking up the helmet of a watching firefighter.

Silva did the same but those waiting for a more elaborate performance were disappointed, as the pair just seemed happy with the novelty of both wearing a fireman’s helmet.

After a little laugh they were about to get back into position but the referee ruined everything by being a major buzzkill and adhering to the rules by handing both a booking.

Thanks to 101GreatGoals for bringing this to our attention – watch a pair of Argentinean strikers get booked for celebrating a goal with firemen’s helmets.
