Arsenal: Potential XI for Spurs clash

Arsenal appear to be ready to allay the fears of fans that they will end the transfer window without an acquisition of note, as the club prepare to splurge significantly before the deadline.

Yaya Sanogo, a free transfer signing from Auxerre, is the only player through the door at the Emirates Stadium so far this summer, but he looks increasingly unlikely to be the last.

Arsenal are working frantically on a number of deals at present, with Yohan Cabaye, Karim Benzema and Angel di Maria just three potential recruits before the window is slammed shut on September 2.

The Gunners also hope to recruit another goalkeeper and defender in the coming days in order to reinforce a squad already creaking under the pressure of injuries, just one game into the season.

Arsenal's final Premier League game before the transfer deadline is the north London derby against Tottenham, who have themselves enjoyed a particularly fruitful few months in terms of recruitment.

But can Arsenal bolster their own squad in time for the clash against their much-changed rivals? Here's how the Gunners could look for the eagerly awaited match….

GK: Vicente Guaita

LB: Kieran Gibbs

CB: Per Mertesacker

CB: Laurent Koscielny

RB: Micah Richards

CM: Yohan Cabaye

CM: Jack Wilshere

AM: Santi Cazorla

LF: Angel di Maria

RF: Theo Walcott

ST: Karim Benzema
