PSG to make £17m offer for Arsenal target

PSG are set to make a £17 million offer for Newcastle United star Yohan Cabaye, according to The Metro.

A move from the French champions could scupper Arsenal's hopes of signing the 27-year-old.

Newcastle rejected a £10m bid from Arsene Wenger's side last week and the Gunners aren't expected to make an improved offer of anything over £15m, meaning the Ligue 1 outfit are in pole position to sign the French international.

Cabaye hasn't taken part in his side's first two Premier League fixtures and looks set to move on from St James Park before the end of the transfer window.

And, it has been reported that the Magpies would prefer to sell Cabaye abroad, rather than to another Premier League club.

Laurent Blanc is determined to win the race for the French star and the north London outfit may miss out on yet another target this summer.

Newcastle, without Cabaye, were held to a 0-0 Premier League draw with West Ham United this afternoon.
