Wales international Gareth Bale will net a staggering £310,000-a-week before tax when he joins Real Madrid from Tottenham, according to the Mirror.
The 24-year-old will subsequently earn around £150,000-a-week after tax – as a result of Spain's 52 per cent tax laws – on his six-year contract at the Bernabeu.
Bale is waiting for Tottenham and Real Madrid to finalise their negotiations, with the Spanish giants hoping to unveil the forward to a crowd at the Bernabeu early this week.
It's believed that Real Madrid will pay a world-record £86m fee for Bale – meaning the entire package, including the player's wages, is likely to cost Los Blancos somewhere in the region of £183m.
Spurs are keen to strengthen their squad before selling the player who netted them 26 goals in all competitions last season, with Roma forward Erik Lamela expected to arrive at White Hart Lane before the September 2 transfer deadline.
