Last season Everton were just one goalscorer short of a Champions League place.
They thought they had solved the problem with Nikica Jelavic, but he turned out to be a one season wonder. Seven goals all season for the former Rangers star really cost Everton.
Marouane Fellaini was Everton's top goalscorer last season with 11 goals, but with no out-an-out striker, the club eventually fell short of the Champions League.
After David Moyes left, it was up to Roberto Martinez to solve the Toffees' lack of goals. He bought Aroune Koné from his previous club Wigan.
Koné, who netted 13 goals in total for the Latics, certainly knows where the goal is. But whether he can be a 15+ goals a season striker, only time will tell.
Everton's Premier League form will also depend on if Jelavic can find the net again after a run of disastrous form last season. Maybe he can find the form from the season before, which saw the Croatian net 11 goals in 16 appearances.
Another factor is whether Victor Anichebe can start scoring frequently. Last year the big Nigerian was praised for his strength and his link-up play, as well as holding up the ball, but he never was a clinical finisher and only managed a handful of goals. Only time will tell.
Another reason for Everton to get in a top class striker is that with Leighton Baines, the man who created the most goalscoring opportunities in the league last season. If Baines has a top class goalscorer in the box, Everton will benefit a lot and may even be a serious contender for one of the prestigious Champions League places.
