Former Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain suffered a nightmare start to life at Napoli, after injuring his face having fell on a rock.

According to Metro, the 25-year-old was spending time relaxing on on the island of Capri, when he slipped on rocks and sustained a blow to his jaw.

The ex-Real Madrid striker, who signed for Napoli for £34.5million earlier on in the summer, received eight stitches to his jaw and two to his eyebrow as a result of the accident.

There was no such clumsiness in his debut Serie A fixture for Napoli however, as the striker turned in an impressive performance as his side ran out 3-0 winners against Bologna.

Although not getting his name on the scoresheet, Higuain gave fans of his new club a taste of things to come by conducting himself with all the calm and composure you would expect of a player who spent six years at Real Madrid.
