Gareth Bale is 'furious and frustrated' with Tottenham Hotspur holding up his world record transfer to Real Madrid and has reportedly refused to turn up for training.
Reports this weekend suggested another club besides Real Madrid had made Tottenham an offer for last season's PFA and FWA Player of the Year, though it does not appear to have gone down well with him.
According to Sky Sports, Bale was scheduled to meet up with his Spurs teammates today for training ahead of the second leg of their Europa League qualifier against Dinamo Tbilisi, which they go into with a 5-0 advantage from the first leg.
However, the winger has not turned up and the Sky report claims he has run out of patience with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy's failure to get the deal done.
Real Madrid are expected to pay a world record fee of £86million for Bale, beating the previous record of £80million, which they paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.
Manchester United were rumoured to be the mystery club that had joined Real Madrid in the race to sign the 24-year-old, but it was denied by manager David Moyes on Monday night after his side's 0-0 draw with Chelsea.
