The moment Chelsea announced the much anticipated return of the man they like to call 'The Special One', you could not keep the Blues fans quiet.
However, despite a positive start to the season, the Stamford Bridge outfit may well struggle under Mourinho.
Now, they are a top club and will almost definitely reach the top four. But, as much as I love the man, his recent team selections have been extremely peculiar, most notably being the continual absence of Juan Mata from the team team sheet.
The Spanish star has absolutely lit up the Premier League since his move to Chelsea due to his pin point passing and his general brilliance in the art of play-making.
He's been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award twice in a row and is widely considered as Chelsea's best player. So, Jose thinks it makes perfect sense to bench the guy, whatever reasoning behind it is oblivious to me, as I believe that he offers so much to Chelsea and players such as John Obi Mikel ought to count themselves lucky that they're in the squad.
I just don't see where the creativity is going to come from now, and with the £30 million signing of Willian from Anzhi Machakhala, this suggests that he is going to fulfill that center attacking midfield role.
So, where does that leave Mata?
Surely with a talent like him on your bench, he, more than anyone will be desperate to play, yet Mourinho is adamant that he wants him in his plans, and with more and more interest growing from rival clubs,Mata must consider his options.
