Fabio Coentrao will remain at Real Madrid following a change of heart on his future, according to Carlo Ancelotti. The left-back has not been involved in any of Real's opening three league games of the season, but Ancelotti has confirmed he's set to stay at the club.

Chelsea have completed the signing of forward Christian Atsu for a reported £3.5m from Portuguese champions Porto. The Ghana international has signed a five-year deal but will spend the rest of the season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem.

A Leo Messi hat-trick helped Barcelona extend their 100 per cent start to the La Liga season on Sunday night. The Barca forward scored a first-half treble as the Spanish giants beat Valencia 3-2 at the Mestalla.

Everton could be ready to swoop for Manchester City pair Gareth Barry and Joleon Lescott on deadline day. Barry is available for about £2.5m, while City have reportedly placed a £4m price tag on Lescott following the capture of Argentinian centre-back Martin Demichelis.

Arsene Wenger has hinted he could spring a "surprise" in the final 24 hours of the transfer window. The Gunners boss has been linked with a move for Real Madrid star Mesut Ozil, but will likely face competition from Manchester United.

And David Moyes insists he'll be working hard on deadline day to strengthen the Manchester United squad. The Old Trafford boss was pleased with his players' performances against Liverpool despite the defeat, a result that leaves United with four points from three games.
