Arsenal are close to signing Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil for a reported £42.4 million fee, and based on this video compilation it's easy to see why.

The Germany international is deemed surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu now Gareth Bale has completed his record-breaking move, and Arsenal look set to take full advantage of the situation.

Arsene Wenger has been on the lookout for reinforcements as he attempts to strengthen his threadbare squad ahead of tonight's transfer deadline - and the French tactician is close to getting his man.

Should Ozil complete his move to the Emirates as expected, despite late interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, the 24-year-old midfielder will be the high-profile signing that Arsenal's fans have been crying out for.

So far this summer, moves for Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez have failed to come to fruition for differing reasons, but now the Gunners faithful can relax as Ozil, barring any last-minute hitches, edges ever closer to north London.

Arsenal fans - watch the video (above) to see what you're paying €50 million for, and have your say on this signing in the comments box provided.
