Daniel Agger - Liverpool
After Daniel Sturridge had given them an early lead, it was a resolute rearguard performance that helped to secure Liverpool victory at the expense of fierce rivals Manchester United. Such an admirable defensive display was marshalled by the ever-reliable Danish international Daniel Agger.
The 28-year-old was extremely solid for Brendan Rodgers' side, successfully stifling the Premier League's top marksman in Robin van Persie by ensuring he wasn't given a second in possession.
There seemed to be a bit of a running battle developing between the two players, with Van Persie booked for a late challenge on Agger shortly before half-time.
