Chelsea Loan Update

Football News

As many Chelsea supporters are well aware, the club has
quite a few players on loan at other clubs. With a few games under their belt,
we can look at some of the loaned players and see how they have been

Marko Marin: The German international was deemed surplus to
requirements by Jose Mourinho and was quickly loaned to Spanish outfit Sevilla.
Since his arrival in the south of Spain, Marin has rediscovered his flair and
ability that encouraged Chelsea to pay £7m for his services in July of last year. He recently scored a brace in a 4-1 Sevilla win over Polish club Slask Wroclaw.

He looks primed to be a regular starter for Sevilla and if the diminutive winger continues to improve he may well challenge for a spot in both Chelsea’s squad next year, and the
German national team.

Thibaut Courtois- The Belgian shot stopper is again on loan at Atletico Madrid, with Petr Cech ever-present at Stamford Bridge. Now in his third season at Atletico, Courtois
has solidified himself as one of the great young goalkeeping talents in the world. While some may slack off a bit, Courtois seems to improve week by week. Excellence is the norm for this young keeper; if his form continues he will undoubtedly be Belgium’s number one for the forthcoming World Cup, and will be able to showcase his outstanding talents for the world.

Thorgan Hazard- the younger brother of Eden, Hazard has been in fine form
at Zulte Waregem this season, with four goals and four assists so far.

His recent run includes scoring one and assisting the other three goals for Zulte in a 4-3 victory against Anderlecht. The 20-year old was curiously named club captain for a day in August, before club officials decided against giving the armband to a young, loanee player. Hazard also earned his first call up to the Belgian national team earlier this year for his impressive performances.
