Frank Lampard insists the pressure he received coming through the ranks at West Ham spurred him on to become the player he is today. The 35-year-old Chelsea star is set to win his 100th England cap on Tuesday, becoming only the eighth player to reach the milestone.

Stephan El Shaarawy has claimed Manchester City and Real Madrid both tried to sign him over the summer. But the Italy international stayed at AC Milan and revealed he's happy to remain with the club for the time being.

Nani has admitted it was new Manchester United boss David Moyes who convinced him to stay at Old Trafford. The Portugal winger was tipped to leave United this summer but ended speculation over his future by signing a new five-year deal last week.

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has stressed he never had any intention of leaving the club in the transfer window. The Spurs forward was linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, with Bundesliga side Schalke thought to be interested.

Arsenal fans voted in record numbers for the August Player of the Month award - and Aaron Ramsey was the winner. The Wales midfielder scored three goals and received 77 per cent of the vote, with Frenchman Olivier Giroud second and Tomas Rosicky third.

Andres Iniesta is set to extend his current contract at Barcelona, according to club president Sandro Rossell. The Spain midfielder, who made his league debut for the club in 2005, is expected to sign the new deal in the coming weeks.
